Our Story

Back in 1979 through a love of travel and exploration Nomads was born. The business has been going for over 40 years and Fin has been trading and importing goods and artefacts from the east to share with us all in the heart of Cambridge. He has many great stories to tell including tales of his Grandfather on a mapping expedition to Tibet in the 1920s

Nomads is the sort of shop that beckons you inside, every time you pass it on Kings Parade any time of the year, with the promise of some exceptional present-buying opportunities.

The phrase “Aladdin’s Cave” may be well-worn, but it really holds true in Nomads’ case – you’ll find two floors packed to the rafters with delightful gift items, textiles and home furnishings from the sub-continent and Asia, including a stunning array of authentic, individual jewellery, plus gorgeous items like genuine afghan rugs, scarves from the Kullu Valley, clothing, throws, lampshades, wooden boxes, Tibetan singing bowls, and statuettes.

And all in a welcoming atmosphere of calm, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets outside…
